Q: The site looks different. What happened?

  • A: We recently moved Tickle.com on to a new technology platform. While the layout might look slightly different, the popular features have remained and we’ve added some new ones.

Q: I can't log in using my old login information! Whats going on?

  • A: If you registered for a Tickle Account during the month of June 2008, or have not logged into Tickle in the last 12 months, your account may not have been transferred over. The easiest solution will be to open a new account. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Q: I can’t see my detailed quiz results.

  • A: We are still transferring data from the old platform and there were billions of results, so it’s taking a little while. Your old results will reappear soon.

Q: I think some of my friends are gone!

  • A: Missing friends are those that have not logged into Tickle in over one year. Also brand-new users (those that registered after June 11, 2008) should have their accounts back on the site within the week, but you may need to re-invite them to be your friend.

Q: Why are my old photos and messages missing from my profile?

  • A: This also has to do with the data transfer. You should expect to see photos back very soon.

  • A: We have discontinued the subscription program. All content on our site is now free! However, not all of the old premium quizzes are on the new platform yet.

Q: I just made a quiz but I can't find it on the site.

Here is a guide to your new profile

An update about your privacy on Tickle.

Hopefully this will help clarify some questions and concerns you have.

Google indexes everything that is on a website's page that is not guarded by a log-in gate. This could include your name, your username, personal information, your forum contributions, etc. — depending on your activity on Tickle. However, some features of Tickle are blocked by the log-in gate: You cannot view pictures unless you are logged in as a Tickle member.

What does this all mean? Well, anything that you can see on Tickle while LOGGED OUT can be picked up by Google, or seen by anyone else who is not a member.

If you have your full name in your profile page, that will be indexed by Google, and outsiders who are not logged into Tickle can be linked to the public view of your profile page.

Browse pages are public. This includes browse pages for quizzes, products, photos, and forums. You don't have to be logged in to read quizzes or see forums (but you have to be logged in to contribute to them). And, again, if you can see it while you are logged out, so can Google.

While the browse pages for photos and profile pages are also not gated, the actual photos and profiles are. So your full-sized photos and full profile pages will not be viewable by the general public nor picked up by Google — you must be logged in to view them. But remember, since the browse pages are public, your photos' names and descriptions and categories can be picked up by Google.

Private groups, and discussions within them, are a great way to go if you are worried about being too public about certain topics. Nothing within these can be seen unless you are signed in to that particular group, so they are not picked up by Google.

For those of you who are worried, I'd recommend removing your last name from your profile page. And if your username is your first and last name, I'd consider changing it. This is the best way to stay fully involved on Tickle while also protecting your privacy.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with questions and/or concerns.
